Web-based tools have greatly broadened ways and opportunities to tell stories and share information. I have created interactive online maps and graphics that engage readers and help them better understand data and connected with readers and customers on social media sites.

Local Food Resource

As a hobby, I blog about food, which has introduced me to various aspects of the food community in Kitsap. As I discover the food producers in our rural and suburban area, I realized that Some smaller groups had created maps or lists for each city, but there was no one place to go to find local food sources throughout Kitsap County. I helped to organize a forum that brought together local food leaders. I created a database of local produce, dairy, honey and other items in Google Docs, exported that information to designed an interactive map. A programmer helped me created a filter for the list of food sources.
